"Having vision beyond your resources is synonymous with dreaming big. It may feel like you're setting yourself up for failure, but you're actually setting God up for a miracle. How God performs the miracle is His job. Your job is to pray. It's not our man made plans that move the Almighty; the Almighty is moved by big dreams and bold prayers." Mark Batterson
"I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer." Psalm 17:6
Jesus was a model of prayer and that’s what we need to become as well. Follow his example and pray:
Focus on God today. You can have time with God today. Don't make empty promises about tomorrow's faithfulness. Today's faithfulness gives you a good chance for tomorrow's success. We believe praying is as natural - and as necessary - to spiritual life as breathing is to physical life. Intentional prayer leads to a renewed spiritual power you never imagined possible.
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you. Psalm 51:10-13 TNIV
"Though my needs may drive me to prayer, there I come face-to-face with my greatest need: an encounter with God's own self." Philip Yancey
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Father, for this reason I kneel before you, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of Your glorious riches You will strengthen me with power through the Spirit in my inner being, so that You may dwell in my heart through faith. And I pray that I, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of who You are, and to know this love that surpassed knowledge – that I may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of you God. (Excerpts from Ephesians 3 – personalized)
I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. You reign forever; You have established Your throne for judgment. You will judge the world in righteousness; You will govern the peoples with justice. You are a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You. (Excerpts from Psalm 9 – personalized)
Father, I pray that I may live this day in Your presence and please You more and more. Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow You. Holy Spirit, I pray that this day You will cause Your fruit to ripen in my life. - by John Stott
