Jr. High Parent Letter

Happy New Year from the SOCC Student Ministry,

We’re excited to see you at Jr. High Fuse in 2012!   Don’t miss it as we will be kicking off two BIG series called iLife and HABITS. 

More about iLife:  When Jesus was asked about the most important commandment, he attached our love for God along with loving others.  When you evaluate your faith, do you consider how you regard other people?   The New Testament says that when our relationship with other people isn’t right, then neither is our relationship with God. If we have to choose to get what we deserve from God, or to choose grace, we would all choose grace.  Who doesn’t want forgiveness?  Yet so often we want grace for ourselves, and then go out and treat other people how they “deserve” to be treated.  As we go through the iLife series, we will be examining what it means to walk in “newness of life” (Romans 6:4).

More about HABITS:  The HABITS sermon series outlines six spiritual disciplines for all believers, young and old:

1. hang out time with God
2. accountability with another believer
3. Bible memorization
4. involvement with the church body
5. tithing
6. scripture study

And don’t forget to check out Jr. High Explosion on Wednesday nights beginning at 6:30pm!  We meet in the Student Ministry area beginning January 11.
