1. If I can buy Christian product online, why should I go through the SOCC Bookstore?
I could sum it up with this phrase: “incomparable service, competitive pricing.” The SOCC bookstore is a ministry of the church whose mission is to provide quality spiritual resources for our church family and friends. It is sometimes difficult to find good Christian materials in our community, so purchasing through our bookstore is an investment in a ministry of SOCC which allows us to continue to fill this void. Our bookstore offers competitive pricing and a knowledgeable staff that can provide personal service that can’t be found from internet vendors. Janet Wingard, bookstore manager, keeps up on all the latest publications and is able to order anything you might need and get it to you just as fast as an online purchase. Even if you find an online bargain or a discount store overstock once in awhile, remember that purchasing your Christian resources from the SOCC bookstore supports ministry right here at home.
2. Will the SOCC Bookstore be providing any additional products, such as gifts, in the future?
The primary mission of the bookstore is to provide Christian resources. There are other places in our community that offer Christian gifts and related products, but few that offer the wide range of Christian books and media that our store does. For that reason, we don’t intend to expand into gift items at this time.
3. What can I do to help the SOCC Bookstore increase exposure in the community?
I am a “raving fan” of our bookstore! I tell everyone I can about one of the best-kept secrets of SOCC. Word of mouth is the best way you can help. Stop by the bookstore on Sunday morning and see the great resources available. Tell your family and friends about the opportunity they have to buy quality Christian resources that will help them in their spiritual walk with God. Purchase Christian books for your friends and family or give them a gift certificate to the SOCC bookstore. There are lots of books available for children. Make sure you start the young ones in your family off right by giving them a love for God and a love for reading. Many times, there are books that are recommended that go along with a sermon, sermon series, or class. Make a habit of getting those and digging deeper in order to mature in your own faith journey.
4. Our small group is looking for a good Bible study. How can the SOCC Bookstore help us get started?
We can show you studies that have worked well for other groups, recommend curriculum, tell you about future new releases and give you a discount on the materials you order!
