Who we are

Sherwood Oaks is a church that is constantly growing and changing, but stays rooted in the Biblical principles that we first were founded upon.  Sherwood Oaks is a church that believes that the Bible is Absolute Truth and infallible.  We believe that God sent His only son, Jesus, to live a perfect life and then die on a cross to save us for eternity. 

We believe that God desires our whole lives to be firmly rooted in Him and that He wants us to share our message with the world.  We are a church that chooses to be positive, encouraging and hopeful.  We sayYes2Love when others might say no. 

We choose to live lives that go beyond our front doors and into Bloomington and the world.  We are a church that seeks to be living, vibrant and different than the world around us.  We are committed to giving more than we receive and to reaching out in different ways to reach all people.  We choose to study the Bible faithfully, to grow deeper in our faith and then to take the next step and share that faith with our friends, family, neighbors and world. 

Sherwood Oaks is a place where you are welcome and we are excited to meet you.  We are a church that is for everyone –regardless of faith background, financial status, or any other worldly designation.  We are a church full of people just like you – unsure, complicated, excited, passionate, loving, graceful, dependent and human.  We know that everyone comes to church with different expectations and different experiences.  We choose to say Yes2Love instead of judging and we hope you choose to do the same.
