Your next steps

Let’s face it...for most people, connecting in a larger church like Sherwood Oaks can be a bit overwhelming. You may sit in the same pew every week, but in a church our size it's really hard to meet people during a worship service. If you want to develop friendships at Sherwood Oaks and fulfill God's purpose for your life, you must spend time serving and growing alongside other believers.

Where do you start? We've outlined a few first steps to help you get connected at Sherwood Oaks.

Step One: Connect

CONNECT is designed for people who are new to Sherwood Oaks, or who have been attending for a while but haven’t yet found ways to be involved. CONNECT is a one-hour experience filled with fun and helpful insight on what it means to really be a part of the Sherwood Oaks family.  Connection Coaches will help you find involvement opportunities that suit your interests. CONNECT meets the first Sunday of every month.  Sign up here for the next event!

Step Two: Discover

After attending CONNECT, your next step is to DISCOVER how God has designed you to serve inside and outside the church as a volunteer. We want to help you find a "sweet spot" in ministry: a place where your gifts, talents and passion can make a lasting impact for Christ.  To do this we offer you a variety of tools, available here.

Step Three: Grow & Serve

After taking CONNECT and DISCOVERING how God has uniquely designed you, your next step is to get involved. Explore involvement opportunities to help you grow and serve in Christ-centered communities within Sherwood Oaks.

Step Four: Yes2Love

God’s church is much bigger than just Sherwood Oaks. You will often hear us talk about Yes2Love. Basically, Yes2Love means that we shift our focus from ourselves to our family, co-workers, neighbors, and beyond. For more information about Yes2Love, start here.
