CareFest is a day when Sherwood Oaks folks head out into to community to serve at various locations all with the idea of getting out in the world to help others all to bringing glory to our Lord. Bring your family, your friends, your small group - everyone - and serve Bloomington with no strings attached! Carefest is the perfect time to put Yes2Love into action (and add to your 50th year service hours goal)!
Gertrudes GardenFarm - Corner of Curry Pike & Vernal Pike
Meet at the site at 8:00am (or when you can get there). Volunteers will clear and clean up brush and debris. Bring gloves, rakes, etc and a side dish to share. We'll roast hot dogs for lunch on the site.
B-Line Trail/Wonderlab - 4th Street, downtown Bloomington (Max 15 people)
Volunteers will start the day by walking the BLine trail and picking up trash. We will then head to Wonderlab where we will cleanup flowers beds and spruce up outside of the builiding.
Hours: 9:00am-10:30am (Trail) 11:00am-1:00pm (Wonderlab)
Boys & Girls Club at Lake Lemon
Crews will cleanup and spruce up Boys & Girls Club's Camp Rock at Lake Lemon. Bring your own water and snacks/lunch. Bring gloves, rakes, pruners for outdoor work. Meet at SOCC door #20 at 8:30 or at the site at 9:00am. Directions: Take 45 (East 10th street) through New Unionville. Turn left on Tunnel Road toward Riddle Point. Go past South Shore Drive, which turns right, go down the hill and watch for signs for Camp Rock which is on the right. Follow the gravel driveway to a small parking area overlooking the lake. If you reach Riddle Point, you've gone too far. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch and binoculars to watch the wildlife!
