Sara Jane Radin wrote, “Your character is the anchor that grounds you, the compass that guides you and the magnet that draws others to you.” Hi, I’m Tom Ellsworth from Sherwood Oaks Christian Church with a minute message.

Personal character is indispensable. Bill Hybels wrote, “Character is who you are when no one's looking.” When you are alone, are you the same person as when others are around? You see, the kind of person you are has more to do with your character than your capabilities. Your success is more dependent upon your integrity than your techniques. No one is perfect, but when we blatantly sacrifice character it no longer matters how skilled you are as a leader or how effective you are at your work. Character has to come first. Horace Greeley wrote, “Fame is vapor, popularity an accident, riches take wings, those who cheer today will curse tomorrow, only one thing endures – character.”

Anyone can put on a good show for the crowd, but the individual who remains consistently noble around the clock models the purest form of character. Starting today, let God be the anchor that grounds your character, the compass that guides your character and the magnet that draws you close to him.
