Brad Pontius

Brad and Gail Pontius have been residents of Bloomington since 1993. They became members of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church in 1995. Brad has served as a minister for 20 years with Youth for Christ in the Great Lakes area and in Latin America. He was also the Director of Student Ministries and Evangelism at Taylor University for 5 years.

Brad received a BA in Religion/Biblical Studies from Taylor University and an MA in Latin American Studies from Indiana University (IU). Gail received a BA in Social Work from Taylor and an MA in Applied Linguistics from IU. She teaches English to foreign students in the Intensive English Program at IU.

Claire is married to John Roth, and they are both teachers. Joel attends Indiana University, majoring in Outdoor Recreation and Resource Management. He works summers as a counselor/worship leader at Navigators' Eagle Lake Camp in the Pike National Forest, by Colorado Springs, CO. Jesse is studying Engineering at Purdue University. His most recent interests have been paintball and jazz drummer.
