John Robertson grew up in a small town in Illinois near St. Louis, called Glen Carbon. He graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1978. John earned a B.A. in Christian Education at St. Louis Christian College.

Marrying Marie in 1984, John soon started full-time ministry in southern Illinois. In June of 1985 he accepted the call as the Youth Minister at a growing church in Bloomington, Indiana called Sherwood Oaks Christian Church. At the time, Sherwood Oaks was running around 300 people and was full of life. John and Marie ministered there for about 8 ½ years, until January 1993. The last church they served at was in a small town in central Illinois called Mt. Pulaski.

Marie and John have have three great kids: Rachel (1990), Caleb (1992), and Danielle (1995).

John says: "To be back at Sherwood Oaks has been incredible! Working with the College Ministry is challenging and so rewarding. Think about the life decisions made during the college years… We as a congregation have a remarkable opportunity to encourage and disciple these young adults at a critical time.

Continue to pray for us as we embark on a journey of a lifetime with the College Ministry."
