Scott Newland

Scott was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, where his father still ministers at Gateway Christian Church. Scott also attended and was ordained at Gateway.

At Milligan College in Tennessee, he met the beautiful Cindy Naum. Scott finished his studies in ministry and English, and Cindy finished her student-teaching in 1993. They were married in 1994 at New Hope Christian Church in Anderson, Indiana, where Scott ministered for 4 years as associate minister.

While in Anderson, they welcomed their first daughter, Cassie, in 1996. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Florida to minister to children at First Christian Church of Clearwater. While in Florida, their family continued to grow as they added two more daughters: Shelby in August of 1998 and Brynne in October of 1999. Their fourth daughter, Jenna, was born here in Bloomington in March, 2001, proving yet again that there is more than one way to grow a children's ministry.

Scott started as Children's Minister at Sherwood Oaks in January of 2000. In 2006 he became the Family Minister.
