Tom Ellsworth

Tom EllsworthTom Ellsworth, a native of the Hoosier state, graduated from St. Louis Christian College and from Cincinnati Bible Seminary (now Cincinnati Christian University). In January of 1981 he and his wife Elsie moved to Bloomington to begin working with the eighty (80) people at the Sherwood Oaks Christian Church.

Tom served as the President of the 2001 North American Christian Convention held in Tampa, Florida. He is co-author of the book Preaching James, published by Chalice Press, 2004. He recently completed a book due to be published in February 2008.

Tom currently serves as editor for Standard Publishing’s PreachingStandard.com (an internet sermon resource service), and as a trustee of St. Louis Christian College. He speaks at seminars, Christian leader’s retreats, and various other engagements. Taking a special interest in Bloomington, Tom is active in community projects and civic boards.

Tom and Elsie have two grown daughters, Emily (engaged to Matt Crum) and Rebekah (Mrs. Erik Suhr). In his spare time, Tom enjoys spending time with his family, woodworking and anything connected with old cars and airplanes.
