Tim Thompson

Tim Thompson has a long ministry history with Bloomington. From 1990 to 2003 he served as worship pastor at Southside Christian Church. Most recently, he has served as the worship pastor with a young church plant, Outlook Christian Church, in Reno Nevada.

Tim attended both University of Maryland while living in Germany and Indiana University. He is single and entirely content to remain so until God wills otherwise.

Worship is central to how Tim defines his walk with God. Worship is loving God with the entirety of our being – heart, soul, mind and strength. God has made each of us unique for the purpose of seeing Himself glorified in unique ways. Having grown up in traditional worship environments, and serving in mainly contemporary worship environments, Tim gets excited when he sees new generations of worshipers discover the richness of ancient (and not so ancient) hymns.

Besides his passion for worship, Tim also takes every opportunity to indulge his passion for travel. He has had the opportunity to lead worship in various parts of the U.S and around the world and looks forward to further opportunities to be involved in international worship outreaches. He is an avid student of architecture (ask him about Frank Lloyd Wright), hates televised golf, and makes a great lasagna.

Tim is currently in the process of recording a CD of songs he and friends have written. He thinks it’s sounding pretty good.
