VBX - Bloomington
At VBX Block Parties this year, kids will learn that everyone can make a difference in the world! Through crafts, games, STEM activities, and more, kids will explore examples of people who brought about change in the world around them. The kids will see how these changemakers ask hard questions, work together to solve problems, care for all people, reach across differences, and imagine a new world. It will be a blast, so invite and friend and plan to join us!
Days - June 5-9
Time - Varies depending on site location.
Ages - Anyone can attend. However, the program is designed for kids who will be in elementary school this upcoming academic year. For kids younger than this, a parent would need to stay with them.
Location - The location of each block party depends on the hosts. Some hosts might have it at their home, while others might have it at a park or another location. Check out the map below to see who's hosting a block party. (Sites coming soon.)
Shirts will be provided for volunteers.

Questions and Answers
1. What is a VBX Block Party?
It's a community of neighbors gathering together to have fun and talk about Jesus.
2. Why are we doing VBX Block Parties?
Sherwood Oaks is a church on a mission to help people in our community grow in their relationship with Jesus. The VBX Block Party is a tool that will help us accomplish this mission. It equips the church to build relationships and have spiritual conversations with our neighbors that will continue even after the event is over. It's also a great way for groups of friends, Life Groups, etc. to connect with and serve families in their neighborhoods and communities.
3. What if I don't feel comfortable leaving my child at someone's home?
That's okay! Parents can choose to register their kids at a block party where they know the site leader and/or some of the volunteers. In general, though, the block parties take place in neighborhoods/ communities--where people already know each other. Also, all the site leaders and volunteers are required to complete background checks and a training.
