VBX Block Parties 2021

Daily, from 06/07/2021 to 06/11/2021, 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Group: Sherwood Kids

In May, we will review the local health department's recommendations and create a plan to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.

Description

A Sherwood Kids! VBX Block Party is an opportunity for neighbors to grow and share together! This summer, we'll travel through time to meet the most important man ever--a man who was not just a man but who was also God. His name was Jesus. He existed outside of time itself and entered into time to turn the world upside down. We'll have an awesome week of discovering that Jesus has always been our faithful, loving, caring, promise-keeping Lord!

Questions and Answers

1.  What is a VBX Block Party?
It's a community of neighbors gathering together to have fun and talk about Jesus.

2.  Why are we doing VBX Block Parties?
Sherwood Oaks is a church on a mission to help people in our community grow in their relationship with Jesus. The VBX Block Party is a tool that will help us accomplish this mission. It equips the church to build relationships and have spiritual conversations with our neighbors that will continue even after the event is over. It's also a great way for groups of friends, Life Groups, etc. to connect with and serve families in their neighborhoods and communities.

3. What if I don't feel comfortable leaving my child at someone's home?
That's okay! Parents can choose to register their kids at a block party where they know the site leader and/or some of the volunteers. In general, though, the block parties take place in neighborhoods/ communities--where people already know each other. Also, all the site leaders and volunteers are required to complete background checks and a training.
