Well, we’ve entered that season when on any given day the meteorologists may warn us about an impending snow.  So far, we’ve had only a light dusting and a few flurries, but more snow is inevitable.  Hi, I’m Tom Ellsworth from Sherwood Oaks Christian Church with a minute message.

Snow is a fascinating substance. Each snowflake is unique in design and is created around a particle of dust.   Most flakes are hexagonal in form.  The longer rays that constitute the six arms of these crystal stars are generally hollow.  And the multiple number of reflecting surfaces on each crystal is what makes the snow appear white.  Different shapes form at different altitudes and at various temperatures.  One of the more unique snowflakes is shaped like a pyramid.  This one is so rare that its basis of formation is still not understood.

Every human being, like a snowflake, is unique.  And remember, no flake is pure – there is a dust particle at its core.  So, it is with humanity – no one is perfect – there’s some dirt in us as well.  That’s why God’s gift of forgiveness through Jesus is so essential!  No wonder the Psalmist wrote, “…wash me and I will be whiter than snow.”
