Noah is Chosen by God

Noah was a godly man; he was blameless among his contemporaries. He walked Roger Clarkwith God. Genesis 6:9 (NET)

How was Noah chosen to be the one through which the human race would be saved after the judgment of the flood? He "walked with God."  In other places in the Old Testament, this phrase is used in the context of "rubbing shoulders" with another. God was close to Noah, and Noah was close to God. How did this happen? One other repeated phrase in this passages gives us a clue. "Noah did all that God commanded him — he did indeed" (Genesis 6:22, NET Bible). This is our challenge today. Our closeness to God is directly related to our obedience to what we know He wants us to do. Remember Adam and Eve? When they disobeyed, they tried to hide from God. God doesn't move—we do. Want to feel closer to God? Obey Him. Jesus said, "If you love me, you will obey my commandments" (John 14:15, NET Bible). Not sure how you can love God? Obey Him. Where are you struggling with God in the matter of obedience? Follow Noah's lead—make it your goal today to do all that God commands!
