It's so easy to think of Christmas as this wonderful, happy time of year. It is easy to think of it as a time when people get together with the ones they love, celebrate and have nothing but joy to share. However, that is not always the case.
For some people, the holiday season is hard. Christmas is a reminder of family members that have passed away, relationships that are strained, financial troubles and more. Instead of a time of joy, this is a time when people find themselves hurting, sad and lonely.
If you run across someone this week that doesn't seem to be sharing in your Christmas cheer, don't just assume they are the Grinch in human form. You may not know the sorrow this time of year brings for them or the burdens they are carrying.
Pray for those that are sad and lonely this season. Pray for the hurting and the helpless. Go out of your way to do something nice for someone you know is experiencing their first Christmas without a loved one. Be patient with everyone. Love everyone.
