Quiet

Christmas is a busy, hectic time of year. We all know it. We all expect it. We all learn to cope with it. We get through the next program, next event, next dinner, all the while stressed and exhausted by the "most wonderful time of year."

In the busyness of your holiday season, remember to find times to be quiet, to be still, to listen to the voice of the One we celebrate and honor on Christmas morning.

Here are some simple ways to add some quiet to your Christmas:

  • Turn off the radio in the car. Spend that time thanking God for the best gift you could ever get this Christmas - Him.
  • Instead of watching another Christmas movie, turn off the TV and gather by the lights of your tree. Talk about your favorite Christmas memories with your family.
  • Read the Christmas Story together.
  • Say no to one event you don't have to attend, but feel obligated to.
  • Step away from the computer, the smartphone, the iPad...whatever technology you have...and just be still.

In the quiet moments, remember the birth of the Savior, and the promise He brings.
