Brian and his wife, Karen, have been married for almost 30 years and a member of Sherwood Oaks for about 20. They have been part of the Beacons Sunday School class much of that time and both have served in a variety of roles. Brian has been a Deacon since 2015 and serves on the Global Outreach Leadership and Communion/Offering Ministry Teams. He is the BISM International Furniture Giveaway volunteer coordinator and leads periodic service projects like Carefest (e.g., for the Hannah Center) and has participated in short-term mission trips to Mexico, Honduras, India and Austria so far.
Some of his favorite things include: racquetball, hiking, experiencing new places and activities, learning new things and volunteering. He likes good Asian restaurants and steakhouses and has begun to learn how to cook a little himself with the help of sites like allrecipies.com. He loves audiobooks and podcasts, especially regarding becoming a better Christ-follower, development and micro-economics, church history, leadership, Sci-Fi and new ideas or discoveries. He likes listening to a variety of music styles and romantic comedy, Sci-Fi and action adventure movies. He has worked for SAIC for over 30 years mostly as a software developer, telecommuting much of that time, enjoying being productive and creative developing websites.
