As we wrapped up our “In the Margins” series this past Sunday, I hope you gained some new perspectives on people at risk. I know I did. It is simple for us to think of someone who is at risk. But the truth is we are all at risk in some way. We are all broken and lost. Jesus came for every single person. He came for you, me, and that person you pictured in your head when you heard the words “at risk.” Luke 19:10 says “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Jesus was drawn to those that were at risk, those that were in the margins. He made a difference in their lives spiritually, physically, and emotionally. And although we all have trials and times in our lives in which we struggle with one or more of those categories, He also calls us to find people in the margins, too. Jesus grieves with us. The Bible even goes as far to say, “Jesus wept.” (John 11:35) Let us empathize with those around us. Let us find them in the margins and share the Good News!
