What Have You Wandered From?

Allen challenged us at the end of his sermon on Sunday to come back. To come back if we have wandered from God. To come back if we have drifted from attending Bible studies and growing in His Word. To come back to that narrow path God has called us to.

What have you wandered from? Personally, I haven’t strayed from attending church. I haven’t walked away from being physically present on a Sunday morning, Wednesday evening, or a small group Sunday afternoon. BUT I have wandered in my personal growth with Christ. I set goals, and when I drift from one of those goals, I keep drifting slowly until I am not even working toward that goal at all. I have a goal to read scripture 10 minutes a day, and I fail at this goal often. 10 minutes. Can you imagine? I get so caught up in the busyness of life that I sometimes cannot reach my 10-minute reading goal. But the issue is that the more days I let myself be convinced, “I’ll do better tomorrow, today was hectic, the laundry HAS to get done first”, the more drift I put in my personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

What have you wandered from? How can you come back? Do you need to set a timer? Do you need an accountability partner? Do you need to show back up to church?
