2. Indiana Work One Centers provide an online guide and pathfinder for your entire job seeking process . If you visit a local Work One center, the staff helps with office tools and other practical aids in the search.

3. lndiana University Libraries offers career resources,

  • helps and links for creating cover letters and resumes,
  • researching companies or occupations,
  • and expanding your job skills. 

Information Commons at the Herman B. Wells Library on the corner of 10th & Jordan (Park at meters in library lot or on top level of garage at 7th & Jordan) has workstations for public use. Indiana residents may request a temporary free account to use research tools and purchase inexpensive printing.

Academic local job sites:

1. Indiana University:  Each campus has their own main portal for job listings and some departments have separate ones too. Due to size and nearness, we suggest focusing on the Bloomington campus main site and the Indianapolis campus main site. The general IU site for all campuses including helps on the search process, and many of our ministry members can help you with questions about the employee categories and what it is like to work at IU.

2. Ivy Tech Bloomington main site has some general info.   Take any course at Ivy Tech (even via distance ed) and you also qualify to enter their job bank.  For jobs at the school itself, there are specific sites for Bloomington campus employment listings.

1. Newspaper job listings: For Bloomington, click on the “Jobs” link from the main Herald Times site. For Bedford, see “Top Jobs” links at the main Times-Mail site. For Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Star has searchable job listings and toolkit

2. Bloomington – Monroe Co. Job Link links the Monroe County workforce with local employers.

3. Cook Group: Bloomington based firm; mainly in the biotech field; Two job sites are Cook Vascular, Inc and  Cook Medical Manufacturing

1. Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division is a federal employer located 22 miles south of Bloomington which employs many local residents. They offer student internships, parttime, and fulltime positions in many areas, especially engineering and technology.

2. Indiana Organization of Cities and Towns lists all member towns and cities, with links to those municipalities that do have a web site.
