Fear Draws You Close

May 27, 2026

"Fear God and keep His commandments"—these words can sound harsh until you understand what they really mean.

Biblical fear isn't terror that makes you run away. It's awe that brings you to your knees. It's standing at the edge of the Grand Canyon, breathless at the beauty, respectful of the boundaries—not because they limit you, but because they protect you.

God's commands aren't arbitrary rules from a distant judge. They're loving guidance from the Creator who designed you and knows where true life is found.

Jesus took the judgment we deserved so we could approach God without terror—only reverence, trust, and surrender. You don't have to fear condemnation. You get to fear Him the way you'd marvel at a sunset: with wonder, gratitude, and humble worship.

That kind of fear doesn't push you away. It draws you close.
