Mission

We are a community of families, volunteers, and staff members whose relationship with Jesus leads kids to experience who God is and how we love Him.

Faith Skills

  • Listen to Jesus
  • See Jesus at work in me and around me
  • Express my love and appreciation for Jesus through my words and actions

Here's how to connect in Sherwood Kids Bloomington!

Sherwood Kids Calendar

During the 9:30 and 11:00 services, we provide age-appropriate environments where kids can grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Kids ages 0-24 months meet in the Nursery area, 2 year olds-kindergarteners meet in the Early Childhood area, and 1st-5th graders meet in the Elementary area. Here's a map of Sherwood Oaks classrooms.

If you’re new to Sherwood Kids, enter the building through Door 4 and go to the welcome desk. The volunteer team there would be happy to help you get connected. If you have any questions before your visit, feel free to email us at kids@socc.org.

This program is for kids ages 3 years - 6th grade. During this time the kids will participate in our kids’ choir and AWANA--a dynamic, gospel-centered program that helps kids develop a biblical worldview. They will deepen their understanding of God and His Word, do various service projects, and prepare for choir performances.

Registration is $35 per child, but is waived if a parent or guardian volunteers on Wednesday evening. (If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us at kids@socc.org.)

Apologetics Class for 5th Graders

Apologetics is the intellectual defense of the truth of Christian religion. While those may sound like big words it is important for students to understand why we believe the bible is true and how that truth should affect their lives. This January every Sunday at noon we will walk 5th grade students through a discussion of truth, why we believe the bible can be trusted, allowance for questioning, and reasoning for how we distinguish right from wrong based on these truths.

Uniform requirements for new Scouts include the blue uniform shirt (most kids opt for the short sleeve size medium), a blue webbed belt, and a neckerchief, slide and book for your appropriate den (for example, a 2nd grader would need the blue shirt, belt, and a Wolf neckerchief/slide/book).The shirt and belt will hold patches and loops your child earns each year, the following years you will only need to buy the neckerchief/slide/book for your child's new den. Many kids opt to purchase hats as well, but it's not necessary. Few kids in our Pack purchase the pants/shorts/long shirts.
