Do you enjoy singing and connecting with other people? Maybe you should consider joining the SOCC Adult Choir on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm in the worship arts room (door #2 - Sherwood Oaks East campus). The choir is a very welcoming group of all ages led by Becky Muncy! They sing once a month during the worship services. Afghan Resettlement Relief
Approximately 6,000 Afghan refugees have taken refuge at nearby Camp Atterbury awaiting resettlement. Many of those who are there have specific needs. Sherwood Oaks East, West and Bedford campuses have a unique opportunity to meet their needs. Throughout the month of September, we are collecting donations. Specifically, we are looking for:
- Personal hygiene items
- Clothing of all sizes
- Small toys for children
- Sports Equipments (specifically soccer balls)
Bring your donations of new items to Sherwood Oaks East and place them in the bins at doors 2, 4 and 5. Donations brought to Sherwood Oaks West and Bedford will be collected in the worship center. If you have any questions, contact Brad Pontius at .
Creative Generosity Workshop
At the workshop, you'll learn how to use the assets God has entrusted to you to bless yourself, your family and invest in the ministries and projects you love. Nursery Coordinator Needed at Bloomington East

Women's Ministry Spiritual Formation Groups
A Spiritual formation group is a small group of ideally 5-15 women. This group, once formed, can stay together for as long as they’d like. A Spiritual Formation group will meet on a schedule they plan, and at a time and place they prefer. They can meet in a home, in a coffee shop, park or at church. They can meet to walk while they talk, or garden after their discussion. The options are endless!
Discovering Your Gifts
Starting Sunday, September 26 through October 17 from 9:30-10:30a, we will be hosting a 4-week class designed to help you understand how God has uniquely "wired" you to make a difference in this world. We will explore your unique life circumstances, skills, temperament, passions and spiritual gifts. Identifying how God has wired you to uniquely serve in the church and your community is one of the best ways to find fulfillment and make a difference. Facilitated by Brad Pontius. Family Commitment Sunday
Family Commitment Sunday is a special time when Sherwood Oaks celebrates the newborn children in our church family by introducing these children to the congregation, praying for them and their families and reflecting on the role that the church and parents/guardians have in raising the church of the next generation. After a brief ceremony on stage, the participating families are invited to the Family Commitment Reception, featuring a light breakfast and family photos. Extended family and friends are welcome to attend. If you plan to participate, please register by Friday, October 8, 2021.

What's Next Parenting Workshop (Early Childhood)
October 10 from 11:00am-1:30pm. This parenting workshop is one of four workshops designed to encourage intentional, Christ-centered parenting in each phase of a child's life (i.e., Nursery, Early Childhood, Elementary, and Jr. High). Mom’s Retreat is a rejuvenating space for moms to gather, fellowship, and grow in their relationship with Jesus. Moms of all stages are invited to join us for coffee, tea, snacks, and a warm sense of community. We meet every other Monday night from 7:00pm-8:30pm beginning September 13. Women's Bible Study
Join us for Growing in Grace: Knowing and Loving God Through Spiritual Disciplines. This study goes over spiritual disciplines which are the ways believers grow in godliness with the help of the Holy Spirit. Spiritual disciplines are the outworking of a redeemed heart and they help us to know and love God more. We will go over what spiritual disciplines are and how the gospel helps believers engage in the disciplines over a lifetime. This study will meet September 15-November 17 from 6:00pm-7:30pm.
