Forgiveness Is a Process, Not Perfection

Mar 4, 2026

You've decided to forgive someone, but then you see them and—POOF—anger flares up again. Does this mean you haven't really forgiven them?

No. Forgiveness is like walking in the dark and stepping on a LEGO. The pain is unexpected but real. True forgiveness doesn't mean you'll never feel hurt again. It means those moments happen less frequently, with less intensity, and the flame goes out faster.

If you're still "poofing" months later with the same hot anger, you may need another conversation with Jesus. But if the flames are getting smaller and the LEGOs hurt less, you're on the journey.

Don't give up. Forgiveness isn't willpower—it's Holy Spirit power working through you over time. Keep walking forward. Keep praying. Keep releasing. You're making progress.
