Today’s devotion is short on words, but big on implications. On Sunday, Allen unpacked the power of forgiveness at our Bloomington campus. The sermon hit close to home for more than one person, myself included. I even remember thinking at one point, “I can forgive almost everything, but I can’t forgive THAT.” That. That thing that is too big, too hard, too painful, too inflammatory, too personal… THAT thing that requires supernatural intervention in order to achieve.
Replace the word “THAT” in the sentence above with the thing you don’t feel like you can forgive someone of…unkind words, criticism, judgment, condemnation. Or is it something even deeper like broken trust, hurt bodies, lost innocence, a life taken too soon?
What feels like it is too big to forgive?
Take that to Christ today. Because those things that feel too big are the things He died to redeem. And in His redemption may you find your peace.
