Paul wrote "Do not be anxious about anything" from a filthy Roman prison, knowing he would likely be executed. How could he say that?
Because he discovered what he calls "the peace of God, which transcends all understanding"—supernatural peace that doesn't depend on your circumstances being calm. It's peace in the storm, not just after it.
You don't leap from anxiety to peace overnight. Your soul grows gradually as you learn to talk to Jesus about your troubles, to whisper His name when you wake up anxious at 3am, to receive more of His Spirit in each difficult moment.
This week, try a simple prayer: "Holy Spirit, I need more of You." Open your hand as a symbol of receiving. Let Jesus speak "Shalom—peace be to you" over your weary soul. His peace is available, even now.
