Relationships While Adulting

Relationships are hard. Relationships seemed to come easy when I was young, but then as I aged, the variables of life affected how I created and maintained relationships. Work, kids, and the hardships of being an adult change my approach. Not only is it more challenging to make new friends as an adult compared to a child, but it might also seem harder to forgive. The stakes are higher, and the scars are deeper. I like what C.S. Lewis says about forgiveness. “To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you.” As much as you think that person does not deserve your forgiveness, you don’t deserve forgiveness either; however, God shows us that it doesn’t matter how unforgivable something might be; you are never too far gone.

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” – Ephesians 4:32
