School starts in just a few days. That means new school supplies, new friends, new routines. I love the beginning of a new school year, a fresh start! The start of school and the opportunity for a new routine and schedule always makes me re-evaluate my current priority list. Am I making room for God? More importantly, am I making Him my top priority? It really doesn’t matter what our schedule looks like if we don’t make time for God in our day. I can fill my schedule, yet still not feel fulfilled if God isn’t my priority. Each of us will experience our time with God differently, and that’s okay. But it’s important that we make it a priority.
Here’s the thing I always go back to: The more time that I spend with God, when I make time with him a priority, then it will become habit. That habit will cultivate my relationship with God in so many ways. I want to fall in love with God’s word, but that means spending time in his Word. I know that as I gear up for our new family schedule next week, I’ll be re-evaluating my quiet time and having an honest conversation with myself about my priorities. New school year, new supplies, new friends, but also a new routine where I put God at the center. So here is my encouragement for you to do the same!
