Happy post-Easter week! We now have hope because of Jesus’ resurrection. By the power of the Holy Spirit, He was raised from the dead, showing that God has power over all things, even death.
Yes, God has power over all things: money, influence, addiction, politics, love, heartbreak, purpose, weather, taxes. And of course, death. But God won’t encroach on our free will; He is all-powerful, but He also allows us to choose. As Shawn mentioned Easter Sunday, we must first admit that we can’t control everything, and give our lives over to God so He can do His good work.
What I must choose, and what you must choose for yourself, is to let go of the burdens and worries in my life, and give them over to God so He can worry about them instead. Jesus says in Matthew 7:11, “If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!”
I can’t.
He can.
So I think I’ll let Him.
