Jesus asked Mary at the tomb, "Why are you crying?" He knew why—but He was inviting her to talk about her grief, about what had been taken from her.
Maybe you're grieving too. The death of a loved one, a broken relationship, dreams that didn't materialize. Jesus doesn't rush you past those tears. He sits with you in them.
We don't bunny-hop from distress to peace in one giant leap. Our souls grow through difficulty as we learn to trust Jesus a little more each day. The goal isn't to never feel troubled—Jesus Himself felt troubled. The goal is to not live there, to not plant our feet in anxiety.
Each time you bring your honest heart to Jesus—your fears, sadness, troubles—you move toward a soul anchored in His peace. It's supernatural. It doesn't make sense. And it's yours for the receiving.
