Many people know the Lord’s Prayer. It is a prayer found in the book of Matthew that Jesus uses to teach us how to pray to the Father. This prayer is known around the world by both believers and non-believers and it often provides comfort and encouragement when something may feel hard.

Matthew 6:10 says “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Often times, it is easy for us to ask God to do our will. We ask him to fix a situation, to heal someone that is hurting, or to give us the next big opportunity. But if we pray the way that Jesus suggests in the Lord’s Prayer, we should be praying for God’s will in our lives, not our own will in our lives.
Author RC Sproul says “Prayer changes things, all kinds of things. But the most important thing it changes is us.” Today, think about how prayer can change you. Pray for your will to align with God’s. We can pray for God’s will in our lives because we know that his plan for us is good and right, and that He is always by our side in that plan.
