Don't Settle for a Transactional Faith

Aug 19, 2026

It’s easy to slip into treating God like a genie—seeking His blessings but not His presence. But the older brother in the parable reminds us: living in the Father’s house without actually knowing His heart leads to frustration and emptiness. God invites us into a relationship, not just a transaction. Serving, reading the Bible, and doing good are beautiful, but only when rooted in love for God, not obligation.

Today, pause and ask: do I desire God Himself, or just His gifts? Lay aside pride and let your faith become personal—enjoy the fullness of being His beloved child.
