How fast are you going right now?
I'm not talking about the speed of your car but rather the speed of your life.
My name is Jim Clark from Sherwood Oaks Christian Church and I'm here with this week's Minute Message.
I was recently challenged by a runner friend of mine to slow down. When I started running 5k's, half marathons and marathons 15 years ago, I didn't know any better. I went out and ran every run at the same pace... as fast as I could go. I have recently been challenged by this runner friend... and a few other books that I'm reading... to slow down my pace. It feels backwards... run slower to run faster... but it seems to be working.
The same is true in our lives. Many of us get up every single day and run as hard as we can in hopes to getting where we want to go. At home... at work... in our relationships with our families and friends. We're running a pace that is unsustainable.
Jesus' pace of life is different. Jesus spent time with people... He took naps... He got away with his friends. Jesus slowed down and Jesus may be challenging you to do the same this week.
