Jesus Is Telling Us to Get Up and Walk

Do you want to get well? For most of us, I would say that our answer to that question would be a big YES! Maybe it is getting well from sickness or an injury. Sometimes, it takes rest, and other times, it takes putting in hard work to build back strength. Whatever the case may be, we need to want to get better and take the right steps. This is no different when it comes to our spiritual well-being and shedding our sinful nature.

Did the man at the pool of Bethesda from John 5 know the best way to get well? When Jesus asked him if he wanted to get well, he responded with the following, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.” He wasn’t relying on God and living his life to the fullest with what was given to him. I’m sure we have all come up with excuses as why we haven’t quit this or stopped that. While we are finding ways out of getting well, Jesus is telling us to get up and walk. When Jesus told the man to pick up his mat and walk, he did; however, let’s not wait around 38 years for a miracle to happen. Let’s be the miracles God created us as; listen to Jesus and get well!
