Welcoming the Holy Spirit fully into our lives can be disruptive—just as it was for the first disciples. After Pentecost, their lives were turned upside down with new boldness and purpose, but also with challenges and change. Yet, again and again, the book of Acts describes communities “filled with great joy” as God moved in powerful ways.
Maybe you’re hesitant to invite God’s Spirit to do “whatever it takes”—afraid of the disruption it might bring. Remember, God’s disruption always leads to deeper joy, authentic community, and a life that impacts others for Christ. Today, let your prayer be, “Holy Spirit, bring Your fire—even if it means change. I trust You for the joy on the other side.” God delights to answer such bold prayers.
