I loved Shawn’s analogy about a fireplace in the living room and sex. Fire in the fireplace, cozied up with blankets, is a beautiful, comfy thing. The fire is where it’s supposed to be…designed to be. But if there was a fire in your kitchen, it would be outside the intended parameters. It would be dangerous. It would cause damage that would need repairing.
God created sex. He made it to bind two people together. But unfortunately, our culture has taken sex way out of God’s set boundaries for it…away from His design. Sin destroys what God designs. Sin has twisted God’s marriage plan for a man and a woman.
But God cares about what goes on in your heart. He intentionally designed blueprints for sex to be between a husband and a wife. He created it as a cherished gift for the marriage bed.
God also doesn’t call us to be judgmental of others who struggle with sexual sin.

God calls us to be convicted but also to offer grace, love, and compassion to every single one of his children, no matter the sin we each struggle with.
