The all or nothing perspective of persecuted Christians is so humbling for me as a believer living in the time and place of history that I do. It is so easy to forget amidst our day-to-day living, what it actually looks like to follow Jesus for many of our brothers and sisters around the world. There is no lukewarm believing – you either give your life to Christ, or you don’t. What a radical way of living that could truly change the world if more of us lived that way. God has called us to be missionaries and to take the gospel to the ends of the world. As Suraj (of NICM) mentioned, not only is it a Biblical command, but it is a privilege. We have so many resources available to us, such instant access to the Word and Biblical knowledge and relatively easy access to the people in our communities and around the world, that there is no excuse not to. It starts with the people right in front of you, but don’t let it stop there. Let’s be a people and a church who take God at His word and choose to live out the Great Commission. In our homes, in our communities and around the world.
What a privilege and an honor it is to share the love of Christ with others in thanks and gratitude for what has in turn been shared with each of us who choose to call Him our Lord and Savior.
