Speaking Out of Anger

Do we understand the patterns of how God wants us to react? Speaking out of anger is the speech you will regret the most. Instead, stopping to pray before reacting when we know we’re mad allows us to ask God for wisdom first! To allow anger to control us is to love ourselves or even sin nature more than loving God.

Billy Sunday, an Indiana preacher from years ago, told a story about a woman in his congregation who said she just exploded and got it all out when she got angry and then it was over. She was justifying this by saying it was just words and once she got the words out, then she could move on. Billy said when you point a shotgun at someone it’s only one simple explosion, but the effects are devastating.

When we get angry and upset, we’re hurting ourselves and others. I think about all of the people who had someone they loved who said something in anger that devastated them for years or even the rest of their lives. Fear and anger often go together.

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Isaiah 26:3

Build people up, don’t tear them down, using Godly encouragement. God will deal with all the unjust things that people have done to us. We don't need to react in anger; trying to get even. Knowing God has our backs, give us patience and peace!
