There are over 4 million teachers in the United States. As we are just a few short school days away from summer, now is a time to be reminded of the importance of a teacher.
Hi, I’m Maggie Mobley from Sherwood Oaks Christian Church with a Minute Message.
We’ve all heard the saying “Don’t count the days, but make the day’s count.” I imagine that teachers everywhere are counting the days until summer, but I know that they are also making the days count. Teachers are making students feel loved, proud, confident, and valued.
Jesus gave us the best example of what a teacher should be.
While Jesus never taught in a classroom, each of us are his students. When we study God’s word, we are spending time learning from the greatest teacher of all time.
In John 13, Jesus says “You call me teacher and Lord, and you say well, for So I am... For I have given you an example that you should do as I have done.” Jesus was a teacher that set the example of how we should live our lives.
The influence of a a good teacher can never be erased. Take time this week to thank and encourage a teacher. And make it a priority to spend time with and learn from our teacher and Lord, Jesus.
