The ministry of presence. It’s more about being than doing. Presence–simply being there–is so important. Even if you can’t be physically present, let others know you are thinking about them. Text, call, email, write a letter, send a telegram, whatever.
This happens to me occasionally. In fact, it happened a couple of days ago. Someone let me know that I had popped into his thoughts, and he was paying attention to these things, seeing them as prompts from God to let that person know he was thinking about them. His note came with prayerful kind encouragement–so nice and appreciated. Still remembered.
How about this? If someone comes to your mind today–maybe someone out of your ordinary thought patterns–let him/her know with some kind words of encouragement.
