What does springtime remind you of?

Mar 10, 2023

Springtime always makes me think of change. The trees and flowers grow and change, the weather begins to change, even the length and sunlight in our days change.  All around us, change is happening.

Hi, I’m Maggie Mobley from Sherwood Oaks Christian Church with a minute message.

Sometimes change is hard. Other times change is new and exciting. No matter how it feels, we cannot control the change in our lives.

The Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said that the only constant in life is change. And while he is right that change is always happening around us, there is only one true constant in life – God.

God is immutable – which means that God is unchanging over time, or unable to be changed.  God is the same God today as he was when he spoke the world into existence.

I find such comfort in knowing that when change is happening all around me, God is constant. We can trust God because he has always been faithful. His faithfulness is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Psalm 102:27 says “But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”  As the change begins to happen around you this spring, I encourage you to use that change as a reminder of the constant love and faithfulness of our unchanging God.
