Have you heard that song, Holy Spirit, by Kari Jobe? If you have listened to a Christian radio station for a while, you probably have. It’s not a new song, but it is one of those that I turn the volume up a little and let the words soak over me.
One of my favorite parts of the song is this:
There's nothing worth more
That will ever come close
No thing can compare
You're our living hope
Your presence Lord
The Holy Spirit has always been such a mystery to me. Sure, I know that God specifically tells us that the Holy Spirit dwells inside us (John 14:26, 1 Corinthians 6:19, Acts 2:38… to name a few), but what does that look like in my everyday life? It should look like I have a living hope. I have Jesus literally living inside of my heart. His presence should be daily shown through me to others. After all, the Spirit is always with us. The Holy Spirit hovers over us – He’s the true voice in our heads giving us the nudge to help someone else, to share the gospel with a friend, to encourage people… if we will only just listen to that voice!
And whatever I know and believe about the Holy Spirit, I have to also understand that God will use Him in my life infinitely more than I can even comprehend!
