This Changes Everything
The ancient city of Corinth was not much different from our own. It was an influential place where new ideas were shared and all kinds of religious practices were encouraged. For followers of Jesus, this melting pot of beliefs gave them a safe place to worship. But as people came to Christ, they often brought some of their cultural and religious baggage with them. Over time, it became difficult to separate Gospel truth from cultural norms.
Paul writes this letter to address at least 11 different issues going on with the church he helped start. Issues that have caused the Corinthian Christians to move away from the Gospel. In this series, we’ll explore some of these issues and see what the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus can teach us about some of these very same things we still wrestle with today.
