Ask 100 people what the word “church” means and you’ll likely get 100 different answers. To some, the church is nothing more than a building or an outdated institution. To others, it’s a place of hope, pain, community, hypocrisy, or some variation of them all. But whatever the Church has become, it started as a vision Jesus shared with his disciples.

When Jesus declared, “I will build my church,” He didn’t have a place in mind, but people. A new kind of community that would embody His love, carry His message, and reveal His Kingdom to the world. That vision came to life at Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit empowered these first followers, and continues today through local churches faithfully living out the Gospel.

In this series, we’ll rediscover what the Church really is, why it still matters, and what it means to actively participate in what Jesus is building. It’s an invitation to move beyond just showing up and into partnering with God in His work of building a community that is transformed by Jesus and sent into the world.
