A Final Charge

2 Timothy 3: 10-17 is titled, “A Final Charge”.

That charge is simply this: Continue in what you have learned and have been convinced of.

Paul encourages Timothy with those words and I believe he is encouraging each one of us with those words today. Part one of the charge is “Continue in what you have learned”. My first thought after reading that was to read my Bible and make it a priority. That’s true of course, but this charge could mean more than that. I think it means also to continue in wisdom and discernment, be sure to learn from other people, remember to love one another. Part two of the charge is “Continue in what you have been convinced of”. Stagnant water becomes murky and we must always continue, or move, in what is good. I want to move around in what I believe, as strange as that may sound. I want my mind to move with thoughts of God and I want my physical being to move in actions of God. So let’s move today and help others to move in Christ also.
