There are a lot of great 3:16 verses in the Bible, but 1 John 3:16 is one of my favorites. This is how we know what love is. Jesus died for us. We ought to be wiling to do the same for those in our lives. It's a powerful challenge and one that requires our ultimate surrender to God!
I often wonder what my life would look like if I were to live in a country where my faith had to be challenged and tested every day. Would I really be willing to lay down my life for other believers? Would I be willing to sacrifice everything for people to know Him more?
