April 19 Minute Message

Apr 19, 2018Tom Ellsworth

Have you checked your blood pressure lately?  How’s your pulse?  Is your heart healthy?  Hi, I’m Tom Ellsworth from Sherwood Oaks Christian Church with a minute message.

The human heart is incredible.  It pumps approximately 2,000 gallons of blood every day – a total weight load of just over 9 tons.  It daily beats nearly 100,000 times or over 36 million times a year.  It is connected to 60,000 miles of blood vessels in our bodies and assists in moving 438 cubic feet of air through our lungs every day.  The physical heart is the most amazing pump ever designed; and yet, it is not the most important heart.  It is the condition of your soul’s heart – the inner you – that is of greatest value to God. You can be brokenhearted, downhearted, fainthearted, hardhearted, kindhearted, stouthearted, wholehearted or just plain heartless. The word heart appears more than 700 times in the Bible.  We know that the pure in heart are blessed, that we are to forgive each other from the heart, and that we are to love God with all our heart.  So, check your spiritual pulse today – make certain that both of your hearts are healthy!
