The beginning of school always brings to mind special memories for me as a father. Perhaps you feel the same. Hi, I’m Tom Ellsworth from Sherwood Oaks Christian Church with a minute message.
I enjoy walking but some walks have left me breathless. Let me explain. Walking my daughter to her kindergarten class on her very first day wasn’t so difficult, but turning around and walking away…now that took all of my strength. I walked with her into the BMV so she could apply for her driver’s license – any breath I had left from that walk was spent praying for her safety on the road. Then I walked her to the door on her first date – trust me, I wanted to walk a lot farther that evening, but stopped at the threshold. I walked the last load of college stuff to her dorm room slowly knowing things would never quite be the same again. A few years later I walked her down the aisle and gave her to another man who is walking with her every step of the way. And now, I’m taking walks with my grandchildren. I cherish every moment and thank God for the grand experience. So take lots of walks with your family – it’ll be the best exercise you’ll ever get.
